Arkansas, Mississippi rely on cellphones most

America's abandonment of the landline phone in favor of the cellphone is accelerating, but nowhere has it gone further than in Arkansas and Mississippi. The states where the smallest proportion of people depend solely on wireless phones and no landlines: New Jersey and Rhode Island.

Electricity to the skull can improve video game skills

In one of the more unusual video game-related studies to emerge recently, a DARPA-funded experiment has found that running electricity through your scalp can help make you a better game player. The game-playing volunteers received an "electric tickle" from a 9-volt battery.

'Portal 2' viral campaign is awesome...and annoying

Depending on how you look at it, the makers of "Portal 2" are in the midst of pulling off a really nifty marketing campaign that delivers exposure to not only their highly anticipated game of teleportation but to a group of very deserving independent games as well ... or they're in the midst of pulling off a cheap publicity stunt that's doing nothing but irritating the f@#!ing hell out of a bunch of their loyal fans.
