Space station malfunctions not unusual

Like any big machine, the huge International Space Station requires daily maintenance repairs to keep flying in space. But every now and then something big or critical like the recent cooling system trouble pops up to shine a spotlight on the $100 billion space station, which has been continuously manned by astronauts for nearly 10 years.

UAE says BlackBerry ban will affect visitors too

The UAE's telecom regulator says BlackBerry e-mail, messaging and Web browsing services will be blocked for foreign visitors too, citing national security concerns because the devices operate beyond the government's ability to monitor their use. Officials in neighboring Saudi Arabia indicated it planned to follow suit.
