Wireless weather alerts don't go to all users yet

The Wireless Emergency Alerts system, which was set up by the FCC, FEMA and most wireless providers in April, 2012. It includes three kinds of alerts â messages from the President, warnings about "severe man-made or natural disasters" and AMBER Alerts about missing children. But not everyone is getting the alerts just yet.

Microsoft's new Surface Pro sold out online Saturday at Microsoft's website in the U.S., hours after becoming available. The first version of the hybrid tablet-PC to sell out was the 128 GB model, for $999, followed by the smaller version, with 64 GB for $899.

When the United States Postal Service announced it would no longer deliver mail on Saturdays, those of us with e-mail anxiety had a moment of jealousy. What would it be like to have two whole days when the Internet just didn't deliver to anyone's inbox?

One of the drawbacks of Roombas, the robotic floor cleaning devices that automatically scoot around and suck up dirt, is that they are too big to clean what really matters. They fall off of pets, are miserable at dishes and they do very little for tablet and smartphone maintenance.

A Connecticut state representative whose district includes Newtown is calling for a tax on "Mature"-rated video games, and she wants the money to fund mental health education about "the danger of violent games." Republican lawmaker DebraLee Hovey submitted the bill calling for a 10 percent sales tax on all M-rated video games, in the wake of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School which took the lives of 20 children and six adults.
