Hunt for new worlds goes into overdrive

The sun is merely a distant speck in this artistic rendering of the view from a world in the Kuiper Belt, an icy ring on the edge of the solar system. Space probes and telescopes could find scores of such worlds.In the next five years, space probes and giant telescopes will revolutionize the way we think of stars, planets and the other denizens of planetary systems, including our own.
