Costly climate satellite lost after launch failure

A Taurus XL rocket blasts off from California's Vandenberg Air Force Base on Friday, carrying NASA's Glory satellite. NASA said that the satellite failed to reach orbit and likely fell into the Pacific ocean, dooming the $424 million mission.A rocket carrying NASA's newest climate satellite failed to reach orbit on Friday and likely crashed into the southern Pacific Ocean after its nose cone failed to separate on time, space agency officials said.
