NYPD Facebook probe raises free speech issue

The New York Police Department is investigating a Facebook group purported to be created by police officers titled “No More West Indian Day Detail,” rife with nasty, often racist comments about the annual parade in Brooklyn.Controversial postings by New York police officers on a Facebook group titled "No More West Indian Day Detail" have raised questions about racism — and also about limits on free speech.
