Hope glimmers in Florida after shuttle shutdown

The shuttle Endeavour's main engines are being replaced with replicas inside Orbiter Processing Facility Bay 2 at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, as shown in this wide-angle view. One year after the last space shuttle mission, Endeavour is being prepared for display at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.One year after the last space shuttle mission ended, Florida's Space Coast is still feeling the economic downside of NASA's downsizing — but there are glimmers of hope for the future.
