Archaeologists work on a sarcophagus recently discovered at Bahariya Oasis, 190 miles (300 kilometers) southwest of Cairo.A bejeweled mummy dressed in Roman robes has emerged from the sands of Egypt's Bahariya Oasis, the Supreme Council of Antiquities said Monday.

From the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Great Plains, some local phone and cable companies fear they will have to compete with government-subsidized broadband systems, paid for largely with stimulus dollars.
